    How does an oil cooler work?

    An oil radiator, as its name suggests, works thanks to heating the oil that is inside.

    Most oil radiators have two wheels to control their operation.

    One of them controls the power with which the resistors that heat the oil are fed, this tells us how quickly the oil contained in the radiator will heat up.

    The other knob is the thermostat and indicates from which temperature the current supplied to the resistances that heat the oil will stop.

    When the temperature of the room falls below a certain level, the oil heating will be activated again by means of the resistors.

    The hot oil inside the radiator is transferred to the air through a heat transfer process known as convection.

    When the heat sensor is located, which determines when the resistance that heats the oil should be turned on or off, in the radiator itself, it is not very precise in terms of the exact temperature at which the change occurs, so normally the thermostat knob it does not indicate the degrees to which this change should be made.
